The 2027 Summer Nutrition Summit

The summit will focus on the unique opportunities in rural, non-congregate summer meals and Summer EBT as we look ahead to summer 2027 and beyond.

We’re committed to supporting the implementation and success of rural, non-congregate summer meals and Summer EBT because these programs are helping close the long, persistent summer hunger gap for children. These programs present exciting opportunities to ensure families and children have summer food resources, and to approach summer food access in new and innovative ways.

Program Overview

Attendees will participate in sessions of varying formats, including plenaries, workshop-style learning sessions, ideation sessions, and networking opportunities. This interactive conference is designed to provide a holistic learning experience, where you can walk away with a new lens on how to support the expansion and implementation of summer programs while making vital connections to peers and partners.  

We’ve partnered with the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) to co-host and design the summit’s Summer EBT sessions. APHSA is the national, bipartisan membership association representing state, county, and city human services agencies, including those that administer SNAP and Summer EBT.

Attendees

The Summer Nutrition Summit will bring together an inspiring mix of speakers and attendees, including state, territory, and Tribal agency staff; local, state, and national partners; summer meals sponsors; corporate partners; and program participants. This dynamic event is an opportunity to engage in collaborative discussions, spark innovative ideas, and shape the future of summer nutrition programs.

This event is invite-only. Invitees will be notified via email.

A template justification letter is available for individuals needing administrative approval for travel.

Hotel Information

The Summer Nutrition Summit will be held at The Roosevelt New Orleans. A discounted guest room rate will be available for attendees. Additional details will be available when registration opens.

Registration

Registration will open in early September. Registration for the Summer Nutrition Summit is free! Limited travel support will be available upon request to cover travel to/from New Orleans and a guest room at The Roosevelt. More information about the travel support request process will be shared soon.
